California's new law makes truck makers sell more electric trucks: 55% of small delivery vans, 75% of buses and big trucks, and 40% of tractor-trailer.

California had to get permission from the EPA because its rules are stricter than the national ones. They got that permission in March.

In 2022, only 2% of big trucks sold in the U.S. were electric. Most used engines that burn fuel. These engines are noisy and pollute the air, making the planet hotter.

If more trucks become electric, the streets will be cleaner and quieter, and the world will be less hot. California is leading the way, and six other states are doing the same. Truck makers will probably sell more electric trucks everywhere because of these rules.
