His father’s side gives him a half-Jewish ancestry from Lithuania, a quarter-Irish ancestry, and a quarter-Hungarian ancestry. Robert’s mother, on the other hand, is descended from Scottish, Swiss, and German ancestors.
Robert grew up in Greenwich Village for the most of his formative years. In his early years, Robert had first experimented with drug use, and most of the time, he shared that behaviour with his own father, who had also struggled with drug addiction.
Robert began abusing booze and other drugs every night as a child as a result. He has also claimed that his father had permitted him to smoke marijuana when he was six years old, as reported.
